To all future TC captains!

Date: Sun, 31 Dec 2006 16:42:35 -0400

Hello, this is Martine, TC Alumni... I was a team captain in TC 2004, TC 2005, and TC 2006.  To all my dear brothers and sisters who are signing up for TC Captain, I know that you will have training... but I really wanted to give you some advice that I never learned until I actually went through 3 TC's of being a captain...

1.) You must rely on God.   Things will go crazy and it's really easy to lose focus.  I tried so hard to do things on my own, trying to figure out all the details until I was stressed to the max!  But you know, TC is for God and therefore, we must rely on Him through prayer before, during, and after TC.

2.) Communicate a lot with your co-captain and coaches.  You are a team!  During every TC, there was always some kind of things that go wrong when I don't talk about how I feel with my co-captain and coaches.  Pray with them!  It's so important!  One TC, there was some grudges and neglect of responsibility going on.  So we needed to communicate and resolve this without contempt and with brotherly/sisterly love.

3.) Don't let Satan get you down!  Satan likes to tempt us and make us feel bad, especially when we are serving God.  Don't let him bring you down, instead, let God carry your burdens.  Put on the armor of God, and stay strong...

Have a great TC2007, God bless... You are in my prayers, my dear future TC caps!

Your sis, Martine

Here a blog, there a blog, everywhere a blog blog...
So I figured that I should put my two cents in. After calculation, I realized this is my 10 TC that I will be participating in this year. Memories of the first date back to 1995 which the theme was Never Alone and TC was held at Monarch Park Collegiate. I still wish that TC would be held at a public buliding such as a school so that other people will not have a bias from entering a church building. Of course, there are expenses and government dealings, yada yada...

Anyway, after that year, I think that the "no bells and whistles" rule was enforced. Ha ha.

There were no A and B shifts.

There was home cooked food. Mmmm...rice... although the mass-produced fan hap stuff is good too. I think that stopped too. Now it's the huge party buffet pans of food. still good. It's a nice evolution.

There was a theme design contest and a theme song contest. I believe the theme design contest is still happening to date, but what about the theme song contest? Where are the billiant compository minds that can create the theme song for TC? We should have that back in.

Speakers have been pretty decent. Someone said we should get Michael Rowan one year. But that'll be hard. He's from the states. That already says a lot. Maybe we should get Druxy Cavey or something...

That's all for now. ;)
